Meet Brandy Price: Helping Women Feel Heard, Healthy, and Empowered

When it comes to our health, we know our bodies better than anyone. But what happens when we know something isn't right and still can't find answers?
For Brandy Price, founder of Beyond the Plate, helping women find those answers is more than a business. It's about empowering women to listen to their bodies, advocate for their health, and finally feel like themselves again.
As a Health & Wellness Coach specializing in nutrition and gut health, Brandy works with women over 35 who are tired of feeling dismissed when they bring up symptoms like afternoon bloating, inflammation, joint pain, brain fog, and low energy.
Too often, women are told these symptoms are just part of getting older or something they have to live with. Brandy believes women deserve to feel heard and supported as they work to understand what's happening in their bodies.
Through Beyond the Plate, she helps women explore potential root causes of their symptoms and make meaningful changes to support their health and well-being.Because feeling better shouldn't mean having to convince someone that something is wrong in the first place.
Looking Beyond the Plate
There's a reason Brandy's business is called Beyond the Plate. While nutrition plays an important role in overall wellness, feeling good involves more than what we eat. It's about understanding our bodies, recognizing what they need, and creating habits that support our health in ways that are realistic and sustainable.
For women juggling careers, businesses, families, and everything in between, prioritizing their own well-being can easily fall to the bottom of the list. Brandy encourages women to make themselves a priority, even when life gets busy.
Her advice to other women in business is simple:
"Always take time for you, whether that's breathing exercises in the car on the way to a meeting or a regular gym routine, and focus on clean, healthy eating."
It's a reminder that taking care of ourselves doesn't always require a complete lifestyle overhaul. Sometimes it starts with a few intentional minutes, a healthier choice, or simply recognizing that our own needs matter, too.
Recognizing Growth, Even When Business Is Slow
Building a business is rarely a straight path. There are exciting milestones, unexpected challenges, and seasons when things don't move as quickly as we'd like. One of the biggest lessons Brandy has learned recently is that growth doesn't always show up in the form of new clients or increased revenue.
"Even when business is slow there can be significant measures of growth."
It's a perspective many entrepreneurs can relate to.Sometimes growth looks like investing in your education, improving your services, building relationships, or gaining the confidence to take your next big step.
For Brandy, one of those important milestones has been completing her CIP class as part of her journey toward becoming a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC). It's an accomplishment she's especially proud of and another step toward strengthening the knowledge and skills she brings to the women she serves. And she's not slowing down.
Brandy is preparing to open registration in January for a new group coaching cohort designed for 8–12 women. The program will create an opportunity for women to focus on their health while experiencing the encouragement and support that comes from learning alongside others.
Finding Connection in the Entrepreneurial Journey
Anyone who has started a business knows that entrepreneurship can be exciting, empowering, and incredibly lonely. Even when we're passionate about what we're building, there are moments when we question our progress, wonder whether we're doing enough, or wish we had someone who truly understood the journey.
For Brandy, finding a supportive community of women has made a meaningful difference.
"Being an entrepreneur can feel very lonely at times and have a community of women supporting me helps me know I am not alone but also I'm right where I'm supposed to be."
That's exactly the kind of connection we believe in at Ember Women. We aren't meant to build businesses, navigate challenges, or celebrate accomplishments entirely on our own. Having women in our corner who understand the ups and downs can make the journey feel a little less overwhelming and a whole lot more meaningful.
When asked why she joined Ember Women, Brandy's answer captured something we love hearing from our community:
"The energy at the Ember Women events always fills my cup and then some!"
And that's what we hope every woman experiences when she walks into an Ember Women event: a place where she can show up as herself, build genuine relationships, and leave feeling encouraged, inspired, and supported.
A Little Something You Might Not Know About Brandy
Outside of helping women improve their health and growing her business, Brandy has a love for travel and a pretty exciting long-term plan. She hopes to eventually retire in Mexico!
It's a wonderful reminder that while we're busy building businesses and pursuing professional goals, we're also creating lives we want to enjoy. And sometimes that dream includes a little sunshine, adventure, and a future south of the border.
Supporting Women Beyond Business
What stands out about Brandy is her commitment to helping women feel better, not just physically, but also in the way they understand and advocate for themselves. Her work reminds us that wellness isn't something we should put off until everything else is taken care of. Our health deserves attention now, even in the middle of busy schedules, growing businesses, and changing seasons of life.
And her entrepreneurial journey reminds us that success isn't always measured by how fast we're moving. Sometimes it's measured by what we're learning, the connections we're building, and the courage to keep showing up. We're excited to have Brandy as part of the Ember Women community and can't wait to see what she creates next!
Thank You, Brandy
Brandy, we're so glad your journey brought you to Ember Women. Thank you for reminding us that taking care of ourselves isn't selfish, that our health deserves attention, and that we should never stop advocating for ourselves when something doesn't feel right.
Thank you for reminding us that growth doesn't always come with big milestones or immediate success. Sometimes it's found in the quiet moments of learning, showing up, and trusting that we're exactly where we're supposed to be. And most importantly, thank you for bringing your passion, encouragement, and energy to this community.
If you see Brandy at an upcoming Ember Women event, introduce yourself. Ask her about gut health, nutrition, building a wellness business, or her plans to someday retire in Mexico! You might walk away with a new perspective on your own well-being, a reminder to prioritize yourself, and maybe even a little inspiration to book that next vacation.
